SAILING INSTRUCTIONS PART B

 

 

To be read in conjunction with Part A of the MYCQ Sailors Handbook.

RACE:            Bribie Cup                                       TYPE:  Bay Race 12

DATE:            Saturday 19 September 2015          START TIME: 1000 hrs

 

OFFICER OF THE DAY: TBA              SAFETY REGS: MYCQ Sailors Handbook and Cat 5

 

RADIO SCHEDS:      0933 hrs on Ch 72 VHF: Contact Start Boat to register.

                                   

START PROCEDURE:  As per AYF Racing Rules of Sailing Part 3 Rule 26.

 

START LINE:            Between the start boat and the Green Is. West Cardinal.

 

COURSE:       From the start, observing all navigational marks, except shipping channel marks, unless otherwise specified, and then

Leave             St Helena South Cardinal  To Port

Leave             St Helena Red                   to Port

Leave             Mud Island                        to Port

Leave             Outer Measured Mile         to Port

Leave             Fisheries Beacon               to Starboard (27 19.31S 153 06.7E)

Leave             North Reef Beacon            to Port

And thence to the finish

           

FINISH : Within 50 mts of the Deception Bay Red (27 07.68S 153 07.59E) and with the mark bearing 90’

 

RACE DISTANCE:  approx 23 nm   TIME LIMIT:   None, see safety regs.

 

Note: All cardinal marks are to be observed as marks of the course with the “island sides” of the marks being “no go” areas

 

FINISH TIMES:  Competitors shall record their own finishing times and submit to the OOD by radio as soon as possible after finishing. By submitting a time, you are making an automatic declaration that you have sailed in accordance with the rules. Yachts not finishing MUST report to the OOD or another competing yacht  to be registered as DNF.

All boats to proceed to Scarborough Harbour where mooring has been arranged in the Compass Marina, details will be on the website Friday

RACE FEE:  $ 5.00

NOTE: All persons competing in club events do so at their own risk and indemnify the club and its servants.  A condition of entry is that each entrant carries at least five million dollars public liability insurance. All sailors should note that the international regulations for prevention of collisions apply at all times. 

Have special regard for rule 9 when in or near the shipping channel.
