Congratulations to Boss Racing on a great Brisbane to Gladstone line honours win. They had No Problem with the light winds and Lightwaves to break the Spirit of the fleet. Mortissues were needed for the fleet as Cut Snake showed them who was the Boss by winning on OMR. They were in early enough to avoid Rushour to enjoyed a Big-Mac (Moggy) Burger for breakfast. Congratulations also goes to No Problem for winning on PCF. There was no Cut Snake-in-grass coming into Gladstone Harbour and they were flying faster than a Catalina Seaplane.

The MYCQ is Australia's premier Multihull Yacht Club. Offshore Multihull Rating (OMR) System

The MYCQ Administers the Offshore Multihull Rating (OMR) System, which is used to handicap all Multihull Yachts. It is similar to the IRC system used for monohulls but is tailored to be applied to all Multihull Designs. This website provides:

Specification - includes an introduction and guidelines on how to prepare your boat and how to measure your sails
Measurement Form - This form is used when measuring your yacht
Inventory Form - This form is used to record everything onboard your boat at the time of measuring
Excel Version of the above forms
Information on the 2016 review and update.

The MYCQ regularly reviews the OMR formulas by looking at race results and analysing trends and new technologies to ensure the OMR system is current and as accurate as possible.

As with most handicapping systems, it is not perfect and rather than criticizing the system and the people that administer it we encourage you to become involved in the club and contribute to developing the system.
