Saturday night on the 29th March was all about Board Shorts, Bow Ties and Boas – a picture tells a thousand words, as seen in the happy snaps taken of the 50th Birthday Party celebrated at our club house. It was the opportunity for Members and Friends to reminisce 50 years of Multihull sailing and launch the 2014 Brisbane to Gladstone Festival. Seventy-five guests joined in the spirit of our birthday party.
Lots of prizes were distributed thanks to Jim and Libby Fern hosting a game of “Pick A Box” in the old TV style, with participants obviously enjoying the “challenges” made or “dares” given. The club has been gratefully supported by the following businesses in the Manly area.
- The Manly Hotel
- The Fish Café, Manly
- Keith’s on Cambridge, Manly
- The Manly Newsagent, IGA Shopping Centre, Manly
- Muir Marine, Manly
- Got A Go Boutique, Edith Street, Wynnum
- Wynnum Disposals, Bay Terrace, Wynnum
- Multihull World Magazine
Thankyou also to our Patron Rob Mundle, Barbara Davey and staff from Plates and Platters, Scott Geary, singer guitarist and Julie Gelgard, Phil McQueen from Vid Pic Pro for their service and support. The event was voted a hugh success with special thanks to the commitment of our Multihull Social Supporters group, Libby Fern, Sue Perry, Barbara Stubbings, Jenny Marouff, Di Graham, Birgit Veit, Alison Sutherland, Eileen Stagg.
